Winery Visits

Visiting a winery in Piedmont is a bit different from visiting a winery in California. With very few exceptions, all wineries require you to make an appointment prior to your visit. Since the Fall is the busiest time for a winery with not only grapes being harvested, but also most vistors arriving, it is necessary to book your visit at least a couple of weeks in advance.

Most wineries are closed on Sundays and also Saturday is a day, where advanced reservation is adviseable.

While getting an appoinment might seem complicated, one is usually rewarded by a very nice personally lead tasting and visit to which one should bring time. No tasting is shorter than 90 minutes and if one might end up in an in depth conversation with the winemaker, one might stay for hours.

Some wineries charge for the tasting, some don't. However any fees are reasonable for the time invested and the wines shown.
